About This Program

USDA Rural Development's Section 504 program provides low-interest loans and grants to very low-income rural homeowners to repair and improve their homes. Grants of up to $10,000 are available for homeowners age 62 and older; loans up to $40,000 are available for those who can afford repayment. Combined assistance can reach $50,000.
