About This Program

The CARE program provides approximately 38% discount on electricity and 20% discount on natural gas for low-income PG&E customers. FERA provides an 18% electricity discount for households just above CARE income limits. One application covers both programs; if you don't qualify for CARE, it automatically checks FERA. Note: PG&E serves gas customers in parts of Sacramento even in SMUD electric territory.
