About This Program

The VA Temporary Residence Adaptation (TRA) grant allows eligible veterans who are temporarily living in a family member's home to make accessibility modifications to that residence. Veterans eligible for SAH grants may receive up to $9,100; those eligible for SHA grants may receive up to $2,586. The grant modifies the family member's home (not the veteran's owned home) for the veteran's temporary stay.
