About This Program

The VA HISA program provides grants for home improvements and structural alterations necessary for the treatment of a veteran's disability, or to allow access to the veteran's home and essential lavatory/sanitary facilities. Veterans with service-connected disabilities may receive up to $6,800 lifetime; those with non-service-connected conditions may receive up to $2,000 lifetime.

Lifetime benefit: $6,800 (service-connected) or $2,000 (non-service-connected)
