HUD's FHA Title I Property Improvement Loan program allows homeowners and long-term renters to borrow for home improvements through FHA-approved lenders, with loans up to $25,000 for single-family homes. Loans under $7,500 are unsecured. Title I loans can be used for any permanent improvement that makes the home more livable and useful, not for luxury items. Credit requirements vary by lender.
