About This Program

The VA Special Home Adaptation (SHA) Grant provides up to $25,350 to help veterans with qualifying service-connected disabilities adapt a home they own or intend to buy. Eligible disabilities include loss or loss of use of both hands, severe burns, or certain breathing/respiratory injuries. The SHA covers less severe adaptations than SAH but still funds meaningful accessibility modifications.

Must have qualifying service-connected disability (both hands loss, severe burns, respiratory injury); apply with VA Form 26-4555; up to 6 lifetime uses
