About This Program

The CAPABLE (Community Aging in Place — Advancing Better Living for Elders) program pairs homeowners age 60+ with an Occupational Therapist, Registered Nurse, and handyperson over a 4–5 month program at no cost. Goals are set collaboratively and minor repairs and home modifications are made to improve safety and support aging in place. Eligibility requires homeownership, income at or below 80% AMI, and an active homeowner's insurance policy.

Program cost to participant is zero; typical value of OT visits plus modifications is estimated at $3,000–$6,000.
