USDA loan up to $40,000 at 1% interest over 20 years for very-low-income homeowners. Grant up to $10,000 (lifetime) for elderly 62+ to remove health and safety hazards. Combined max $50,000. RURAL AREAS ONLY — verify address eligibility at eligibility.sc.egov.usda.gov. Most of St. Louis City and dense suburbs will not qualify.
