About This Program

FEMA HMGP provides grants to reduce future disaster losses through projects like home elevation, flood proofing, and wind retrofits. Homeowners cannot apply directly; local governments apply on their behalf. Following Hurricanes Helene and Milton, Hillsborough County has active HMGP funding. Contact Hillsborough County Emergency Management for current project opportunities.

Federal share is 75% of eligible project cost. Must be administered through local or state government on homeowner's behalf.
