About This Program

The VA SAH grant (up to $126,526) helps veterans with severe service-connected disabilities build, buy, or modify a home to be barrier-free and independently livable. The SHA grant (up to $25,350) helps veterans adapt their home for certain service-connected conditions. Both grants can be used up to three times within their lifetime limits. Contact the James A. Grant amounts are adjusted annually by federal law. SAH and SHA can each be used up to 3 times up to the lifetime maximum.
