Alaska's Heating Assistance Program (HAP), funded by federal LIHEAP dollars, provides direct heating fuel assistance to income-qualified Alaska households. In Anchorage, the program is administered by the Aleutian Pribilof Islands Association (APIA). FY2025 benefits range from $350 to $6,125 based on income, household size, and energy costs. An applicant can receive one heating assistance grant per season.
One grant per heating season. Benefits are calculated using a point system based on income, household size, and energy burden. Crisis assistance for emergency situations is available year-round.
