VA Special Home Adaptation (SHA) Grant

About This Program

Provides up to $25,350 (FY 2026) to veterans with qualifying service-connected disabilities to adapt their home for independent living. Eligibility requires specific service-connected conditions such as blindness in both eyes, anatomical loss or loss of use of both hands, or certain severe burn injuries. Usable up to 3 times within the lifetime limit.

Grant — no repayment required. Up to 3 uses within lifetime limit.
