About This Program

Rebates for installing a qualifying ENERGY STAR-rated central air conditioning or heat pump system through an Austin Energy participating contractor. Tier 1 central split AC (SEER2 15.2) earns $950; Tier 3 AC (SEER2 18.0) earns $1,450. Heat pump Tier 1 earns $1,000; Tier 3 earns $1,600. Can be combined with the Home Energy Savings program.

Rebate depends on system type and efficiency tier. Heat pumps earn slightly more than straight-cool units at equivalent SEER2 ratings.
