About This Program

Austin Energy reimburses $1 per square foot for energy-efficient solar screens installed on home windows through a participating contractor. Solar screens block solar heat gain, reducing summer cooling loads and lowering energy bills. A typical Austin home may have 200–400 sq ft of window area, making the average rebate $200–$400.
