About This Program

TSAHC's Homes for Texas Heroes provides 30-year fixed-rate mortgages with down payment assistance grants of 3–5% of the loan amount (grant — not repaid) for teachers, police and corrections officers, firefighters, EMS personnel, and veterans. The companion Home Sweet Texas program serves all other income-qualified Texas homebuyers. No first-time buyer requirement for qualifying heroes or veterans.

DPA is a grant — no repayment. Income limits vary by county; min. 620 credit score. Austin-area income limits near $80–100% AMI depending on targeted vs. non-targeted area.
