About This Program

The SAH grant helps veterans with certain severe service-connected disabilities construct or modify a home to accommodate their disability. The current FY2026 maximum is $126,526, and veterans may use the grant up to six times over their lifetime. Eligible uses include building a specially adapted home, remodeling an existing home, or applying the grant to the unpaid mortgage principal of an already-adapted home.
