About This Program

The SHA grant assists veterans with specific service-connected disabilities in adapting or purchasing an already-adapted home. The FY2026 maximum is $25,350, usable up to six times. SHA typically covers blindness in both eyes, loss of both hands, or certain respiratory conditions. Can be used to adapt a home the veteran owns, rents, or intends to purchase.
