Texas Ramp Project — Free Wheelchair Ramps

The Texas Ramp Project (nonprofit)

active accessibility

About This Program

The Texas Ramp Project is a nonprofit that builds free custom wheelchair ramps for low-income individuals with disabilities across 145 Texas counties, using volunteer labor. Referrals must come from a qualified healthcare professional, social worker, or community organization — individuals cannot self-refer. Priority is given to hospice patients, dialysis patients, people living alone who cannot safely exit their home, and those with dangerous existing ramps.

No cost to the recipient. Ramps are built with volunteer labor and donated materials. Program goal: 2,760 ramps statewide in 2025.
