USDA Section 504 Home Repair Loan & Grant

About This Program

The USDA Section 504 program provides very-low-income rural homeowners loans up to $40,000 at 1% interest for home repairs and improvements. Elderly homeowners (62+) may also qualify for grants up to $10,000 to remove health and safety hazards. Dallas proper is not USDA-eligible, but some surrounding rural Dallas County communities may qualify. Combined loan and grant assistance can reach $50,000.

Grant (up to $10,000) requires no repayment. Loan (up to $40,000) at 1% interest for up to 20 years. Must verify rural eligibility at eligibility.sc.egov.usda.gov.
