About This Program

Detroit Land Bank Authority's Buy Back Program allows residents who are occupying a DLBA-owned home to purchase it, often for back taxes only. 100+ Detroiters received deeds through this program in 2025. A pathway from renter to homeowner that makes you eligible for repair programs. The companion 'Make It Home' program (with UCHC and Rocket Community Fund) acquired 1,396 homes since 2017, with an average purchase price under $10,000.
