About This Program

USDA Section 504 provides home repair loans up to $40,000 at 1% fixed interest over 20 years to very-low-income rural homeowners, and grants up to $10,000 (lifetime) to homeowners age 62+ to remove health and safety hazards. Loans and grants can be combined for up to $50,000 in total. This program serves rural areas of Kent County outside the Grand Rapids metro core.
