About This Program

HMGP provides funding after a presidentially declared disaster to reduce future disaster losses through home elevation, floodproofing, structural wind retrofits, and property acquisition. Homeowners cannot apply directly — the City of Jacksonville or Duval County applies on your behalf during active HMGP cycles. Contact the Florida Division of Emergency Management or Duval County's emergency management office to ask if an active HMGP cycle is open for your area.

Homeowners must work through local government; 25% non-federal cost share required — local government or homeowner may contribute
