About This Program

The HISA Grant provides funding for medically necessary home modifications for veterans receiving VA care, regardless of discharge type. Veterans with service-connected disabilities may receive up to $6,800 (lifetime); veterans with non-service-connected conditions may receive up to $2,000 (lifetime). Eligible improvements include roll-in showers, wheelchair ramps, widened doorways, and medical equipment accommodations. Both homeowners and renters may apply.
