About This Program

The Tennessee Historic Preservation Fund Grant, administered by the Tennessee Historical Commission, provides competitive federal pass-through grants for historic preservation projects. Applications open January–February annually. While primarily targeting properties with public use, eligible homeowners of properties listed on the National Register of Historic Places or contributing structures in historic districts may apply. A 50% match is required.

Highly competitive; private residential homes rarely receive awards historically. Requires 50% match from applicant.
