About This Program

The USDA Section 504 Home Repair Grant provides up to $10,000 (up to $15,000 in presidentially declared disaster areas) to homeowners 62 or older in USDA-eligible rural areas to remove health and safety hazards. Unlike the companion loan, this is a true grant requiring no repayment, intended for seniors who cannot repay a loan. Loans and grants can be combined up to $50,000.
