Federally funded program administered by Arizona DES that helps low-income households pay heating and cooling utility bills, prevent shutoffs, and access weatherization services. Benefits include up to $640/year for standard heating or cooling assistance and up to $500 for an additional crisis benefit for households facing an energy emergency. Income eligibility is 60% of State Median Income for heating/cooling/crisis; 200% Federal Poverty Level for weatherization component.
Apply through AZ DES portal or local Community Action Agency. For Phoenix/Maricopa, the cooling benefit period runs April 1–November 30. Crisis benefits available year-round for emergencies.
