HUD Lead Hazard Control & Healthy Homes

U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD)

available federal-health

About This Program

HUD funds state, county, and city governments to identify and fix lead-based paint hazards and other health hazards (mold, radon, asthma triggers, falls) in pre-1978 homes with low-income families. Individual homeowners and landlords apply through the local government agency that holds the HUD grant, not through HUD directly. Check with your city or county housing department to see if a local program is active.

Must live in a jurisdiction with an active HUD lead/healthy homes grant; income limits apply
