About This Program

The NC Urgent Repair Program (URP) provides deferred forgivable loans up to $15,000 per household for emergency health and safety repairs to owner-occupied homes. Administered by NCHFA through local nonprofits, the program targets very low-income households (at or below 50% AMI) and focuses on imminent hazards such as roof failures, HVAC outages, and structural deficiencies. Loans are forgiven at $5,000 per year.
