About This Program

The City of San Diego offers WaterSmart rebates for homeowners to reduce outdoor water consumption, including turf replacement (commercial rate $2/sq ft through Metropolitan Water District), rain barrels, cisterns, rain gutters, and downspout redirects. The Landscape Transformation Program additionally offers $100 per tree (up to 5 trees) when replacing lawn. Apply online through the City's rebate portal.
