About This Program

Minnesota Housing's Fix Up Fund offers below-market interest rate loans ($2,000–$75,000) for virtually any permanent home improvement on owner-occupied primary residences. Current rates range from 3.00% to 7.99% over terms up to 20 years. Loans are available at 100% of project costs with no prepayment penalty. In declared disaster areas, up to $75,000 may be available at 0% interest.

Rates are typically 1–3% below market. For a $25,000 loan at 5% over 15 years, monthly payment is approximately $198. Income limits are generous compared to other programs.
