About This Program

The My Safe Florida Home Program provides free wind mitigation inspections and matching grants for hurricane-hardening improvements such as roof replacements, impact windows, and reinforced doors. For the 2025-2026 cycle, low-income homeowners (≤80% AMI) receive the full $10,000 with no match required. Home must be insured for $700,000 or less, have a homestead exemption, and have a building permit issued before January 1, 2008.

Low-income homeowners receive the full $10,000 with no out-of-pocket contribution. Moderate-income homeowners must contribute $1 for every $2 from the state.
