About This Program

USDA Rural Development Section 504 provides loans at 1% fixed interest (20-year term) for very-low-income homeowners, and grants up to $10,000 for homeowners age 62+ to remove health and safety hazards. Loans and grants can be combined for up to $50,000. Eligibility requires the property to be in a USDA-eligible rural area – verify your Tucson address on the USDA eligibility map.

Grants up to $10,000 for 62+; loans at 1% over 20 years up to $40,000. Some Tucson-area addresses qualify as rural – verify online.
