About This Program

Provides free replacement or repair of private sewer lateral lines for eligible Austin Water customers. Homeowners typically receive a notice from Austin Water identifying a defective lateral, then may apply for the grant to cover the repair or replacement cost entirely. Available to single-family homes and duplexes within Austin city limits and some ETJ areas.

Full repair or replacement cost covered; no cap published. Typically $5,000–$20,000 market value.
