About This Program

DOE-funded weatherization through TDHCA installs energy-saving measures, insulation, caulking, weather-stripping, duct repairs, and HVAC tune-up or replacement, at no cost to income-qualifying households. Eligibility is based on 200% of Federal Poverty Income Guidelines. In the Austin area, services are administered through local Community Action agencies. FY2025 Texas allocation: $7.6 million across 21 subgrantees.

Eligibility at 200% FPL (approximately $60,240 for a family of 4 in 2025). Priority given to elderly, disabled, and households with young children. Renters eligible with landlord consent.
