About This Program

DOE-funded weatherization through TDHCA installs energy-saving measures — insulation, caulking, weather-stripping, duct repairs, and HVAC tune-up or replacement — at no cost to income-qualifying households. Eligibility is based on 200% of Federal Poverty Income Guidelines. In the Austin area, services are administered through local Community Action agencies. FY2025 Texas allocation: $7.6 million across 21 subgrantees.
