About This Program

The City of Houston's HCD administers multiple home repair programs providing assistance for minor, moderate, and substantial repairs — or full reconstruction — of owner-occupied single-family homes within city limits. Serving low- and moderate-income households (at or below 80% AMI), the program prioritizes seniors 62+, households with disabled members, and families with children under 18. For severely damaged homes, full reconstruction into a new dwelling is possible.

Amount depends on scope; minor repairs may be $5,000–$20,000, major rehab up to $75,000+.
