Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs (TDHCA)
TDHCA's Weatherization Assistance Program installs energy-saving materials, including insulation, weather-stripping, caulking, and efficient heating/cooling systems, in homes of low-income Texans at no cost to the homeowner. Funded by the U.S. Department of Energy, eligibility is based on income at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Level. Services are delivered by local subrecipient agencies in each county.
Average WAP investment is approximately $6,000-$12,000 per household; all work is free to the homeowner.
Grant-approved contractors understand the documentation, inspections, and timelines, so your funding releases on schedule.
This is just one of many grants, rebates, and free programs available. Stack them together to maximize your savings.
