About This Program

The SHA grant assists veterans who have qualifying service-connected disabilities — such as blindness in both eyes with 20/200 or less vision, or loss of use of both hands — to adapt their or a family member's home for accessibility. The SHA grant can be used to adapt an existing home the veteran owns, a home the veteran will purchase, or a home owned by a family member.

Up to $25,350 for FY 2026; usable up to 6 times across a veteran's lifetime.
