About This Program

The SAH grant helps veterans and service members with certain severe service-connected disabilities adapt or purchase a specially adapted home. Available up to 3 times (with cumulative maximum). FY 2026 maximum is $126,526. Qualifying disabilities include loss or loss of use of both legs, certain spinal cord injuries, blindness in both eyes, or loss/loss of use of one leg with additional disability. Apply through the VA regional loan center.

Grant adjusts annually for construction cost changes. Can be used up to 3 times with a cumulative lifetime maximum. Coordinate with Phoenix VA HCS at 602-277-5551.
