About This Program

AHEP allows income-qualifying DC households (under 80% AMI) in single-family homes of 4 units or fewer to fully electrify at no cost. Eligible gas appliances replaced for free include furnaces, boilers, water heaters, dryers, and stoves, swapped for heat pumps, heat pump water heaters, electric dryers, and induction ranges. Co-enrollment in Solar for All ($500/yr bill savings) is offered to participants.

Full appliance replacement value estimated at $15,000–$25,000 for a complete gas-to-electric conversion.
