About This Program

UDP provides ongoing monthly discounts on electric (up to $475/yr), gas (up to $276/winter season), and water/sewer bills (over $962/yr) to income-eligible District residents. Income limits are generous – up to $91,800 for 1 person and $131,100 for a 4-person household in FY26 – making this one of the broadest utility assistance programs in DC.
