About This Program

CenterPoint Energy's Agencies in Action program provides free whole-house energy audits and weatherization upgrades to income-qualified CenterPoint electric customers. Eligible households receive insulation improvements, HVAC tune-ups or upgrades, and air sealing at no cost. Households must receive benefits from qualifying public assistance programs (SNAP, Medicaid, SSI, CHIP, TANF, or Public Housing) or have income below 200% of the Federal Poverty Level.

Free program; value of improvements typically $1,000–$5,000 depending on home condition.
