About This Program

HCD's Disaster Recovery Division administers HUD CDBG-DR funded programs for homeowners impacted by declared disasters, most recently Winter Storm URI (DR21). The Single-Family Home Repair Eligibility Program (SFHREP) streamlines applications and can provide funding from minor repairs to full reconstruction for income-qualified homeowners within Houston city limits. Applications accepted online, by phone, or in-person.

Award amounts range from minor repairs ($5,000–$25,000) to full reconstruction ($75,000–$150,000+) depending on damage and household income.
