Lead Pipe Replacement Assistance Program (LPRAP)

DC Dept. of Energy & Environment (DOEE) / DC Water

active city

About This Program

LPRAP covers 100% of the cost to replace private lead, galvanized, or brass water service lines for eligible DC homeowners when DC Water's Lead Map shows the private side is lead but the public side is not. This is not a reimbursement program – DOEE and DC Water pay the approved contractor directly. Income may influence which funding source is used but does not bar eligibility.

Private lead service line replacement typically costs $3,000–$10,000; program covers 100%.
